From April 15–19, 2026, the 10th Huawei ICT Competition China Finals (Challenge Track) was held at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. After intense preliminary rounds, 16 university supercomputing teams from across China advanced to the finals. The BNU-SYS “Zhuiyunzhe” team, advised by Jianhua Gao, won the Third Prize.
About the Competition
The Huawei ICT Competition is organized by Huawei for university students and teachers worldwide. Since it was launched in 2015, it has been held for ten consecutive editions; this year’s edition attracted more than 220,000 participants from over 2,000 institutions in more than 100 countries and regions. The Challenge Track is one of the most technically demanding and hands-on tracks. Under the theme of “supercomputing + intelligent computing” convergence, this edition fully adopted domestic computing platforms (Kunpeng + Ascend) and focused on teams’ comprehensive ability in system optimization and algorithm tuning.
The finals were designed around the deep integration of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, covering supercomputing benchmark performance optimization, parallel computing tuning, AI operator implementation and acceleration, and large-model inference efficiency. Teams were required to perform system analysis and engineering-level optimization of real computing tasks on the Ascend and Kunpeng platforms.
